The Billingborough Army Cadet Detachment’ will be renaming their hut on Birthorpe Road, Billingborough, The Eliza Bill Army Cadet Hut at a special ceremony being held on Wednesday, 8 May.
Eliza Bill, 16, who attended the detachment, died in a collision with a lorry in Osbournby, near Sleaford, on 3 December 2018.
A detachment spokesman said: “We are having an open night to commemorate Cadet Eliza Bill, who tragically lost her life.
“In order to remember her life and contribution to the detachment, the army cadet hut will be renamed as The Eliza Bill Army Cadet Hut.
“Billingborough Army Cadets are having a renaming ceremony for the hut followed by an open night on the 15th May 2019 from 7pm.
“Members of the public are welcome to attend this community event and get an insight into how the Army Cadet Force really becomes a second family for everyone who is part of it.”
Eliza was described by her family as “the most beautiful soul” who “touched hearts”.
A petition for a crossing to be installed in Osbournby, where the accident occurred, has so far attracted over 2,400 signatures.
